Bible Word Scramble — Free Online Bible Game

Unjumble Bible words using the hints. A fun word puzzle for kids, youth groups, and adults.

Free to play, no sign-up required — and free to embed on your own website.

Bible Word Scramble jumbles the letters of a word from Scripture and gives you a one-line clue. Unlike the other seven games there are no multiple-choice options — you type your answer, which makes it the only game here you cannot guess your way through.

How to play Bible Word Scramble

  1. A scrambled Bible word appears with a hint underneath, such as "God's unmerited favor" for GRACE.
  2. Type your answer. Capitalisation does not matter.
  3. The board tells you straight away whether you have it, and shows the word if you have not.
  4. Ten words make a round, drawn from a set of twenty-two.

What this game teaches

Vocabulary. Words like grace, manna, gospel and covenant get used constantly in church and are often only half understood; each one here comes with a plain-English hint that defines it while you play.

Who Bible Word Scramble is for

Children, Sunday school and youth groups above all — it is the most game-like of the eight and the least dependent on prior Bible knowledge, because the hint teaches the word even when you cannot unscramble it.

Bible Word Scramble — frequently asked questions

How many words are in Bible Word Scramble?
Twenty-two, each with its own hint, and ten are drawn for a round. The letters are reshuffled every time, so the same word rarely looks the same twice.
Do I have to type the answer exactly?
You type the word, but capitalisation is ignored — grace, Grace and GRACE all count. There is no timer, so you can work at it.
Is Bible Word Scramble good for kids?
It is the most kid-friendly game on the page. The hint is a plain definition, so a child who cannot unscramble the letters still learns what the word means, and there is nothing to lose and no clock running.
