Who Said It? gives you a famous line from Scripture and asks who spoke it. Some are unmistakable and some are genuinely contested in people's memory — plenty of well-known sayings get attributed to the wrong prophet, apostle or king.

How to play Who Said It?

  1. A famous quotation from the Bible appears on screen.
  2. Four possible speakers are offered — the real one plus three others from a cast of nineteen biblical figures.
  3. Pick who you think said it.
  4. Ten quotations make a round, drawn from a set of fourteen.

What this game teaches

Who is speaking, and therefore what a line means. Scripture records words spoken by God, by prophets, by apostles and by ordinary people in the middle of a story, and knowing which is which changes how a verse should be read.

How many quotations does the game include?
Fourteen, with ten drawn for each round. It is the smallest pool of the eight games, so repeats come quickly if you play back to back — Guess the Verse and Complete the Verse draw on several hundred passages if you want more variety.
Who are the possible speakers?
Nineteen in all: the thirteen people quoted in the game — God, Jesus, Peter, Paul, David, Ruth, Mary, Job, Joshua, Isaiah, Thomas, Cain and John the Baptist — plus Moses, Abraham, Noah, Solomon, Daniel and Elijah as extra options. Every name offered is a real biblical figure, so no answer can be eliminated for being invented.
Why does it matter who said something in the Bible?
Because Scripture records speech faithfully without always endorsing it. Words spoken by God carry different weight from words spoken by Job's friends or by a crowd, and reading a quotation without knowing its speaker is one of the commonest ways verses get misused.
